I Please Diana nascono nel 2011 da un’idea primordiale di Federico Croci e Alessandro Nardecchia che, dopo essersi visti la porta sbattuta in faccia da Gigione, decidono di ricercare tramite Wikipedia e l’ambasciata iraniana altri componenti per completare la formazione. Inizialmente si uniscono al gruppo Filippo Bovini e Marco Sensi (già conosciuto nel panorama musicale locale in quanto militante in altri gruppi come City Zen Keys e Beyond the Shade) e, durante la torrida estate del 2011, partoriscono insieme diversi pezzi, che vengono poi completati dal funambolico arrivo della cantante Gloria Bianconi. A Dicembre ultimano il primo demo, contenente i brani: “Sospiro”, “Cambiamenti” e “Quel posto che non c’è”. Nel 2012 iniziano la loro attività live, partecipando a vari concorsi e suonando in giro per il centro Italia ed oltre: fanno parte della line-up del Riverock Festival 2012, condividendo il palco con Marina Rei, suonano all’Urban Club di Perugia, al Contestaccio di Roma e approdano alla finale del Talent Show Festival 2012, suonando in quel di Nettuno (RM) e tornando a casa da primi classificati. Nel freddo gennaio del 2013 si rinchiudono in studio (Wild Flower Studio) e registrano il loro primo album, L’Inevitabile, masterizzato al Sam Recording Studio, di Lari. L’Inevitabile esce definitivamente ad Aprile. Ci si aspettano grandi cose da loro. L’origine del loro nome è ancora sconosciuta ai più. Alcune ipotesi poco verosimili sostengono che si tratti di un incitamento nato in sede prettamente sessuale di una coppia inglese sbirciata di nascosto al Notting Hill Gate Hotel di Londra. Altre voci sostengono che sia un riadattamento di una frase contenuta nella canzone Open Fire dei Silverchair, anche se non è da escludere la pista di un accostamento laborioso e metodico di varie parole scelte in maniera non prestabilita affinché producessero un gradevole suono. |
